With another incredible season behind them, the Toronto Marlboros entered the playoffs. The first two rounds, against the Toronto Nationals and the Mississauga Reps, were well played and hard fought by all. However, the skill and determination of the Marlboros players carried the day, with the team progressing through the first two rounds with a record of 8, 1 and 1. The stage was set to begin the final round against the Mississauga Rebels.

The Toronto Marlboros had worked hard to get into the finals. Knowing their opponents well, playing them before in the regular season, plus seeing them in the finals the last two years, everyone knew that this was going to be a well-played brand of hockey.

The series began with a great win for the Marlboros who scored late in the game, while short-handed. The next 4 games saw the Toronto Marlboros go into every third period either winning or tied, just to see the games slip away and the Rebels pull out the win, securing the Championship in five games.

Coach Gialedakis gathered with the team in the dressing room for a final chat, where he expressed how proud he was of all of their efforts both on the off the ice… It had been a long season. He spoke about how united this team had to be during the season to achieve what they had achieved. Coach Gialedakis made sure to thank the Coaching Staff and Managers for all of their time, effort, and dedication. He also reminded the team of the three prestigious tournament championships behind them. All in all, they had a remarkable season to focus on… Especially their win in the 2014-2015 International Silver Stick Tournament in Whitby, Ontario.

The season wasn't quite finished yet.  The entire Marlboro organization gathered together for the annual end of season banquet. The players and their families gathered for a great night, reminiscing about the season past and enjoying the surroundings among accomplished athletes and coaches. Three players, Justin Lee, Mathew Hill, and Daniel D’Amico were honoured with Five Year Marlboro Awards. It was truly a once in a lifetime experience.

The members of the Toronto Marlboro Minor Bantam team were not ready to say goodbye.  It was more a feeling of "until we meet again."  After all, tryouts and the pre-season camp were just around the corner.

This tea,m is as their saying emphasizes, "United in our Relentless Pursuit of Excellence."

The Marlboros would like to wish everyone a safe and happy summer!
